トーマス・エジソンの略歴

トーマス・アルバ・エジソン(英語: Thomas Alva Edison, 英語発音: [ˈtɑməs ˈælvə ˈedəs(ə)n](トマス・アルヴァ・エディスン), 1847年2月11日 – 1931年10月18日)は、アメリカ合衆国の発明家、起業家。スポンサーのJPモルガン、秘書のサミュエル・インサル、そしてメロン財閥と、アメリカの電力系統を寡占した。

日本では長らく「エジソン」という表記が定着しているが、 “di”(英語発音: [də])を意識して「エディソン」「エディスン」と表記する場合もある。
